Viasat selected by DIU for ORIENT ProjectThe Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) has selected Viasat under the Opportunistic, Resilient & Innovative Expeditionary Network Topology (ORIENT) project through two seperate Commercial Solutions Openings (CSO) contracts for software and support services. These contracts will provide advanced networking capabiliities in support of the Replicator initiative, which aims to deploy large numbers of uncrewed, all-domain, attritable autonomous (ADA2) systems to support warfighter operations. Replicator aligns with the United States DoD's Broader effort to accelerate the delivery of innovcative capabilities to the field at speeds and scale. Under these contracts, Viasat will deliver its Multi-Domain Uncrewed Secure Integrated Communications (MUSIC) architecture, integrating software-defined networking (SDN) to enable seamless, resilient connectivity for autonomous systems across multiple transport pathways. the MUSIC mesh network overlay will also provide secure information sharing and command and control (C2) capabilities among disparate autonomous platforms, ensuring reliable, mission-critical communications in complex operational environments.
NASA's selects Viasat for five-year NSN IDIQ contract Viasat was selected as one of four commercial companies to receive a Task Order for NASA to support its direct-to-earth (DTE) abilities with its five-year IDIQ Near Space Network (NSN) services contract. This contract has the option to extend five years to a value of $4.82 billion. The contract will provide commercial ground and space relay services for future NASA missions from low-earth-orbit to two million kilometers from Earth. Viasat's Defense and Advanced Technologies (DAT) will provide DTE connectivity to current and planned NASA space missions. Viasat will support NASA communications with its global Viasat Real-Time EArth (RTE) Ground-Segment-as-a-Service (GSaaS) network that will provide LEO missions with a resilient and high-throughput satellite to ground communications solutions. The RTE network can provide multi-gigabit per second downlinks over a hybrid network-of-networks with a foorprint across six continents, this will allow NASA to significantly increate its daily opportunities to downlink information and support the timely delivery of mission critical data.
Viasat wins task order from USSFInmarsat Government (dba Viasat) was awarded a Proliferated Low Earth Orbit (PLEO) Satellite-Based Service (SBS) contract by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) on behalf of the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC). Inmarsat Government is one of 16 companies selected for the $13 Billion IDIQ contract. The contract has Viasat leveraging advancements in small satellite technology, reduced costs, and increased launch competition, enabling PLEO constellations to deliver persistent, global coverage with lower transmission latency. under the contract, Viasat will provide a fully managed range of PLEO services, including:

Viasat Selected for Phase 2 of USSF SSC Enterprise Space Terminal ProgramThe USSF SSC has selected Viasat for its phase 2 Enterprise Space Terminal (EST) program, that aims to develop a next-generation optical laser communications terminal capable for supporting military operations through crosslinking and multi-orbit, interoperable communications. In phase 1, Viasat's Space and Mission Systems team successfully completed a Preliminary Design Review (PDR) for its Free Space Optical (FSO) space terminal. phase 2 will focus on developing and conducting initial testing of a hardwarte prototype of this advanced space laser communications terminal. The terminal is being designed to meet stringent performance, interoperability, and size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) requirements for proliferated on-orbit intersatellite link communications across future space systems, ensuring secure, high-capacity, and flexible connectivity for U.S. military missions.
U.S. Government selects Viasat to develop Ethernet EncryptorThe U.S. Government has selected Viasat under an IDIQ contract to design and develop a next-generation Ethernet Data Encryptor (EDE) solution. This high-assurance, high-speed system will meet the most stringent security requirements for protecting classified information up to Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) levels. Viasat's government encryption team will lead the development, certification, and sustainment of the EDE to address evolving security specifications, cloud communications requirements, and emerging cyber threats. Building on the proven capabilities of Viasat's KG-142, the new EDE will deliver 16 times more bandwidth, 60% power savings, and 3.2 Tbps encryption bandwidth density per standard rack. This next-generation EDE will provide performance, scalability, and security for mission-critical government networks, ensuring resilience against current and future threats.

Airborne Technology Enhancements
Viasat's Dynamic Video Encoding (DVE) technology optimizes ISR (intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) video feeds based on available satellite capacity. it automatically adjusts video data throughput as bandwidth changes, to ensure optimal output and maximizing the efficiency of the bandwidth already in use. DVE also allows for dynamic configuration changes across security boundaries, providing flexibility for varied mission environments.
The IPTV operates over existing Viasat SATCOM terminals, delivering live news and television content without relying on streaming services. This allows personnel to view SATCOM TV without impacting mission-critical, bandwidth-intensive communications. The solution combines TV and data connections through a single terminal, to support Command and Control (C2) communications and enhance situational awareness.
Viasat also offers a point-to-multipoint airborne video streaming platform with onboard storage for high-data-rate recordings of HD video and sensor data. Using H.264 or H.265 compression with a rugged Viasat-tested airborne encoder, the system enables over-the-air transfers of encrypted video and data streams to content-managed server. Security ensures a AES-256 or HAIPE encryption, maintaining the integrity of mission-critical information.

Viasat's Managed Detection Partnered Response (MDPR) provides cybersecurity protection through a combination of advanced technology, expert analysis, and hands-on support. At the core is Viasat's world-class Security Operations Center (SOC), providing continuous monitoring and rapid incident response.
This service includes Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) design, build, and integration to ensure complete visibility across networks, as well as network and enpoint detection and response capabilities to identify and neutralize threats in real time.

Viasat NetAgility Virtual Router and Orchestrator streamlines the management of complex networks and radio devices by leveraging advanced analytics to rapidly detect, diagnose, and resolve issues. Viast's ELITE communications kit is a flexible, secure, open-architecture platform designed to integrate network management, beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS), line-of-sight (LOS) and wireless networks into a single, streamlined solution.
ELITE Headquarters is a portable Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Combat (C5) system solution that connects to Tactical Operations Centers (TOC) or Forward Operating Bases (FOB). it enables critical mission capabilitites such as Common Operational Picture (COP) sharing, ISR data integration, sensor fusion, telematics, and medical communications.
ELITE Soldier Wearable Kit is a lightweight, rugged communications network for frontline personnel, to provide resilient connectivity and enhance situational awareness. It combines tactical edge devices and sensors with Link 16 and LOS radios, to ensure warfighters can access and share mission-critical data in real time.
Mercury Free space optics (FSO) Terminal
Viasat's Mercury Free Space Optics (FSO) terminal delivers secure, high-capacity communications without relying on heavily regulated radio frequency spectrum. Capable of providing links up to 20 Gbps over distances of up to 70 km using multi-channel approach, Mercury FSO offers resistance jamming, spoofing, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) compared to traditional RF systems.
The system features a seperate acquisition beacon and shortwave infrared (SWIR) camera, enabling autonomous acquisition, pointing, and tracking for both Comms-on-the-Pause (COTP) and Comms-on-the-Move (COTM) operations. The system seamlessly integrates into standard body armor, to reduce kit configuration time by up to 90% and supports a broad range of perpheral devices. the hub features advanced power management, customizable edge computing, and real-time situational awareness capabilities.
The SWH can be rapidly deployed ny a single dismounted user, allowing ground force commanders to have situational awareness in minutes. leveraging Viasat's NetAgility mobile software-defined networking (SDN) platform, it provides advanced networking functions including automatic network configuration and support for Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSFC).
This integration allows for seamless hosting of multiple transports and disaparate waveforms, ensuring resilient connectivity for mission-critical applications and secure data exchange in contested or degraded operational environments.
G2X Satellite Communications Service
Viasat's G2X service delivers secure, high-capacity, and globally portable satellite communications for government users, enhancing exsisting government SATCOM with added redundancy, diversity, and resilience. Built on the Global Xpress (GX) Ka-band network, G2X provides end-toend wideband connectivity worldwide and is fully interoperable with MILSATCOM Ka-band systems for sealess augmentation.
The service combines Ka-band and L-band capabilities with a single subscription, offering unmatched reliability and availability. Designed for mobility across air,land, and sea, G2X is available in tailored service plans for each domain, with high availability SLAs and flexible terms.
The packages can be configured for specialized requirements, such as non-standard bandwidth profiles, non-Viasat equipment integration, or multi-vessel bandwidht sharing.
Mil-Ka
Viasat's Military Ka-band (Mil-Ka) uses High-Capacity Payload (HCP) steerable beams that are fully interoperable with MILSATCOM Ka-band networks. This allows authorized mlitary users like NATO and Five Eyes partners to access Viasat's Global Xpress (GX) wideband capacity as part of their own independent networks. Each GX satellite carries two payload offering distinct service propositions:
Gloabal Service Beams are a managed service delivered across a network of 89 fixed beams per satellite, enabling smooth roaming and worldwide deployment within the GX footprint.
High-Capacity Payload offers steerable beams operating in military Ka-band, compatible with systems like Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS). This gives military users cost-efficient access to wideband capacity with the flexibility to meet specific operational requirements.
Mil-Ka beams can operate in loopback mode or connect through Viasat or government-owned Satellite Access Stations, to ensure secure, reliable, and mission-ready communications in the same frequency band as national systems.
FleetBoardband
Viasat's FleetBroadband service provides mobile, reliable, and secure voice and data coverage across the world's oceans, to ensure vessels remain connected no matter where they might be. This service is provides cost-effective operational and crew communications alongside real-time access to mission-critical information.
This service supports C4ISR requirements while also enabling a wide range of applications, including voice calls, email, internet access, video conferencing, real-time weather updates, and port information. By integrating robust data connectivity with clear voice communications, this service helps mairtime operators maintain operational readiness, improve decision-making at sea and enhance crew welfare all through a single trusted platform.
SwiftBroadband
Viasat provides highly reliable, secure, and cost-effective airborne satellite communications for voice and IP data, using low-profile, lightweight antennas significantly smaller than traditional systems. Powered by Viasat's I-4 satellites, its L-band services are used by government aeronautical customers, business aviation, and over 40 commercial airlines worldwide. the IP-based, packet-switched service provides always-on data connection via single or multichannel systems, supporting high-quality voice communications alongside guaranteed data rates.
Installation enables services like safety communications, weather updates, flight plan delivery, crew email, internet access, video streaming, VoIP, GSM, and SMS messaging. Built to the highest security standards, the network supports NSA Type-1 and NATO Secret encryption systems for high-assurance applications.
Standard IP mode offers 432 kbps per channel, with HDR option providing up to 650 kbps. For higher bandwidth needs, operators can add equipment to run up to four channels concurrently. The service is also backwards-compatible through integrated circuit-switched ISDN capabilities, to ensure flexible and future-ready airborne connectivity.
L-MAX
Viasat's L-MAX service is a wideband streaming L-band solution purpose-buit to meet government Communications-On-The-Move (COTM) requirements, delivering high-throughput connectivity with small-aperture capability.
L-MAX Aero is an enhanced L-band lease service that bridges the gap between Viasat's L-band and GlobalXpress (GX) broadband services, operating through SwiftBroadband hardware. It allows government users to connect via Viasat's I-4 and Alphasat satellites, whether on the move or stationary, and delivers GX-like speeds through L-band sized terminals.
The service can reserve bandwidth and power over a defined geographic region for a specified period, using higher-order modulation and coding (MODCOD) to maximize Internet Protocal (IP) data efficiency. This combination of flexibility, mobility, and performance makes L-MAX an ideal solution for secure, reliable government connectivity in dynamic operational environments.

Viasat's managed services provide a modular suite of tools designed to meet diverse government operational requirements, from long-term fleet airtime management to short-term emergency response solutions. These services include end-user training to ensure communications systems remain accessible, efficient, and mission-ready, as well as advisory support for government communications infrastructure design and implementation.
Viasat can design, integrate, and manage end-to-end mission-critical communications systems, providing network administration, monitoring, and technical support. Service options include extended warranties, hot swaps, and tiered Service Level Agreements (SLAs), alongside 24/7 helpdesk support with prioritization levels tailored to operational needs.
With an annual $600 million investment into R&D, Viasat's Engineering Tech refresh Services ensure solutions stay up to date on technology. Network infrastructure is protected by a dedicated cybersecurity team that performs continuous testing to safegaurd sensitive operations.
Through its Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) program, Viasat partners with customers to scope, design, install, train, service, support, and eventually retire equipment. For enhanced operational security, self-service software can be deployed, allowing government customers to order services with a degree of anonymity.
Air-IQ
Viasat's Air-IQ service enables ISR operators to transmit high volumes of data from multiple aircraft sensors, seamlessly transitioning between technologies to deliver the most suitable on-demand return throughput. Each ISR platform starts with a global baseline capability on takeoff, enhanced when approaching the operational region via TDMA technology for a commited data rate. For advanced mission requirements, capacity can be increased using leae-based SCPC technology, after which Air-IQ automatically reverts to regional orglobal packages for the remainder of the flight.
Aire-IQ provides 10 Mbps return bandwidth per platform and integrates SD-WAN capabilities with a secure self-service control platform. It's anti-jamming, data encryption, and networking monitoring features ensure low probability of intercept/detection (LPI/LPD). all ISR traffic is routed and protected within a fully closed private network, supported by dual-redundant global infrastructure. Three service tiers are available:
L-MAX: high-speed, regional network services
G2X air plus andG2x: regional connectivity with speeds that are up to three times GX speeds and flexible roaming.
K-MAX: enhanced connectivity with over ten times the GX speeds and reliable backup options.
Air-IQ supports flexible hardware integration, offering essential ISR terminal components and enhanced G-MODMAN while allowing customers to select their own airborne terminal or preferred modem. Theservice is operated and managed through Viasat's INVISION software for complete mission oversight.
Testing & support
Viasat's decades of experience in testing, supporting, and maintaining antenna systems across frequency ranges from L to V-band. the company conducts component, subassembly, and full system level testing for complex projects, leveraging capabilities such as dynamic testing, data tracking and monitoring, anechoic and planar near/far field facilities, and high-precision assembly fixtures for both space and airborne applications. This includes qualification testing for antennas, radomes, and spaceflight hardware.
Viasat also provides global support engineering services and comprehensive maintenance programs to keep systems mission-ready. Its spaceflight engineering services cover project lifecycles backed up by 24/7 access to product experts.
Maintenance offerings include standard and extended warranties, Technical & Support Services (T&SS) programs, Maintenance & Support Services (M&SS) programs, tailored technical and maintenance packages, and lifecycle management with logistic and depot support. This support is structured into three tiers:
Level one support: antenna systems field engineers

all customers benefit from a secure web portal for issue tracking, repair management, order status updates, and replacement requests, to ensure full transparency and operational continuity.
Viasat Real-Time Earth (RTE)
Viasat's Real-Time Earth (RTE) services allow satellite operators to command, downlink, and rapidly distribute data from GEO, LEO, and MEO satellites in a secure, time-sensitive manner. the system supports real-time streaming to customers, ensuring mission data is delivered quickly and reliably.
Currently under development is a real-time satellite-to-saellite transmission capability, designed to create a virtually zero-latency environment for telemetry, tracking and control (TT&C) systems, as well as payload data. This will leverage a LEO-to-Viasat-3 GEO satellite link, further reducing latency and enhancing the speed of mission-critical data delivery for space operations.
